SUPPLEMENTS FOR APPETITE CONTROL

The obesity epidemic is spreading around the world and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warn that approximately two thirds of American adults are now overweight or obese. Natural nutrients that help control appetite offer an effective tool in the battle of the bulge. Recent obesity research has been discovering powerful botanicals that have appetite-suppressing effects and promote weight loss. The following supplements offer natural appetite control that help decrease caloric intake, suppress food cravings and enhance satiety (the feeling of satisfaction).

  1. Hoodia Gordonia Extract- Hoodia extract is derived from the Hoodia gordonii plant, native to the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. Hoodia contains an active, appetite-suppressing compound called P57 that sends a signal to the satiety center of the brain that the body is not hungry. A double-bind, placebo- controlled study found that overweight participants given Hoodia ate 1,000 calories a day less than those in the control group.

  2.   Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)-Several studies have reported that CLA improves fat metabolism, increases lean body mass and reduces appetite, without a change in diet or exercise.

  3. Fiber- Water-soluble fiber has multiple weight loss benefits. Research reports that high fiber intake diminishes appetite, increases feelings of fullness, and improves weight control.

  4. Chromium- An eight-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that supplementation with a natural dietary compound containing chromium reduced appetite, inhibited fat synthesis, and decreased body weight in 60 moderately obese participants.

  5. Korean Pine Nut (Pinolenic Acid)- Penolenic acid, an extract of the Korean Pine Nut, has been found to significantly suppress appetite and enhance satiety. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that supplementation with pine-nut derived pinolenic acid reduced food intake by 36 percent in overweight participants.

  6. Garcinia Cambogia- Garcinia cambogia, an extract from the Malabar tamarind fruit, inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates into fat, reduces appetite, and promotes weight loss.

  7. Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP)-Studies suggest that 5-HTP enhances satiety, leading to decreased appetite and caloric intake at meals and weight loss.

Lipitrex contains CLA, Chromium, and Pinolenic Acid.
