Aquadrene Aquadrene® is a diuretic dietary supplement that promises to eliminate water weight gain without depleting essential electrolytes. Aquadrene® includes nutrients derived from herbs and botanicals that may help prevent the body from retaining water and eliminate excess water. Its key ingredients include Taraxacum officinal (dandelion leaf), dandelion root extract, uva ursi, parsley, buchu leaf, cranberry fruit extract, and electrolytes such as potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6.

The manufacturer, Sterling Grant Labs, has not conducted clinical studies of Aquadrene®. However, research suggests that taraxacum (dandelion leaf) and dandelion root are effective diuretics and have mild laxative effects. Dandelion has a high potassium and sodium content, which helps prevent electrolyte loss when used as a diuretic. The manufacturer claims that taraxacum has similar diuretic effects as the drug furosemide (Lasix) but without furosemide's side effect of depleting critical electrolytes.  Dandelion should not be taken with diuretic drugs. Some people may have an allergic reaction to dandelion. Diabetics should exercise caution when using dandelion root, as it may increase the blood sugar lowering effects of diabetic drugs.

Research also suggests that uva ursi can help reduce urinary tract infections when combined with taraxacum. The manufacturer states that uva ursi has a mild diuretic effect. Parsley increases urinary production and water loss without depleting essential electrolytes. Buchu leaf is used as a urinary tract disinfectant. Furthermore, cranberry has been shown to help prevent and treat urinary tract infections. The manufacturer states that cranberry helps the kidneys regulate the pH of the urinary tract. It also helps to control E. coli bacteria in the urinary tract and prevent bladder and kidney infections.

Aquadrene® only claims to promote water weight loss. Taking Aquadrene® will not increase calorie burning or lower body fat percentage. "Aquadrene® is a perfect solution for anyone looking to lose those last few uncomfortable, water bloating pounds," states the manufacturer. "It can also be used to jump start the weight loss process for individuals who are just beginning a weight loss program."

The manufacturer claims that Aquadrene® is 100% safe, natural and effective.

However, the disclaimer on the manufacturer's website states, "The products and the claims made about specific products on or through this site have not been evaluated by LipoSlim Systems or the United States Food and Drug Administration and are not approved to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease."
